Offered here is my personal VOX AC30 Top Boost from 1966.

I bought this amplifier from the first owner many years ago. I remember that day vividly. After a couple of weeks of discussions about condition, price, and the pick-up date, I drove for hours to meet the family and the nice gentleman who owned the amp. And what do you know?! The amplifier did not function properly.

The owner felt so bad—not only towards me, but he was also very worried about his AC30. He told me how he had bought it as a young Beatles fan, how he had swapped the on/off switch for a key to make sure that the other bands with whom he shared a rehearsal space would not use his amp, and about the shows he had played with his beautiful VOX AC30.

I think he was very relieved when I told him that I thought it was only the power tubes that needed replacing, and that I was still happy to buy it for the agreed price. He was so relieved that I received more cookies than one could possibly eat on a five-hour drive, hehe.

Now to the amp: You are looking at a late 1966 VOX AC30TB. Aside from the added wheels, one missing vent cover, and some replaced electrical parts, the amplifier remains in its original state. The original switch is included with the sale and can go straight back in, as the control plate and chassis are completely unaltered. I simply love the key-as-on/off concept, so I decided to keep it as is.

All transformers are original, and the original Silver Bulldogs are in great shape. One of which has a RIC cone which is uncommon for the year. Being a one owner amp with no repair history and having all sealing lacquer points intact on all screws, I am certain it is original to the amp.

That VOX AC30TB sounds so very good, the Vib/Trem channel is to die for.
