There is something special about an original early-’70s Marshall cabinet. Long before vintage stacks became collector pieces, these were built to be played loud—and this 1971 Marshall 1982B is a wonderful survivor from that era.

Featuring the transitional combination of checkerboard grille cloth and metal handles, this cabinet retains its original Marshall 100 logo, main logo and original wheels. These details, together with its largely untouched condition, make it a particularly desirable example of early Marshall production.

The cabinet remains original apart from a few missing screws. Gladly, it retains its original Celestion speakers with their original cones. And they sound absolutely epic: huge, punchy, and rich. I am a sucker for 1981s.

The tolex and grille show a few tears, visible in the photos. To me, that is simply part of the story. This is a genuine vintage cabinet that has survived more than five decades without losing the features that matter.

Rare to find in this configuration to begin with, and increasingly difficult to find in such original condition.

A real collector’s item. A glorious sounding cab.
